چکیده

The study aimed to estimate the Crop Water Requirement of Soybean plant under sprinkler irrigation system at Nasho Sector, Rwanda. Experimentally, covered total area 30mx60m give 1800m2. It means that each plot contained 10m width versus 60m height with one installed movable sprinkler. While for water collection from nozzles, catch cans were used collect discharge rate. After pumping sprinklers, research should pass 15min and record rate in experimental 3 sub plots make 3plots*3 cans* 3sub 27 samples whole site. Cropwat 8 computer packages was compute Reference evapotranspiration, scheduling soybeans production. findings showed mean ETo soybean found be 4.79 mm/day. For crop requirement, it rain fall 785.2mm while effective 678.8mm period twelve months. scheduling, evapotranspiration 678.4mm/dec rainfall need per production 134.9 mm/dec Irrigation requirement 547mm/dec. is concluded amount stored root zone less than needed soy beans can suffer deficit. also higher months these implies as results Maximum potential yield most irrigated crops has increased substantially during system. In addition, there an economic gains productivity are attributed improved management, modern practices associated better agronomic management those past. recommended different riser heights may studied observe their effect on measures performance, cater cultivation other crops.

Crop Water Use Responses of Upland Rice to Differential Water Distribution under Sprinkler Irrigation System

A two-year dry season experiment was conducted at the research farm of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, IITA Ibadan, Nigeria to estimate irrigation water requirements and establish crop water use. Two upland rice varieties (NERICA 2 and NERICA 4) were planted in a randomized complete block design (RCBD). Four treatments based on different water distribution levels were adopt...

Corn yield responses under crop evapotranspiration-based irrigation management

Improving irrigation water management is becoming important to produce a profitable crop in South Texas as the water supplies shrink. This study was conducted to investigate grain yield responses of corn (Zea mays) under irrigation management based on crop evapotranspiration (ETC) as well as a possibility to monitor plant water deficiencies using some of physiological and environmental factors....

Crop Irrigation Scheduling via Simulation-Based Experimentation

Intraseasonal water allocation to a single crop has been studied extensively. Previous studies have emphasized the need to coordinate irrigation scheduling with several factors including economic and physical constraints, amount of soil moisture available at the time of irrigations, growth stage of the plant, interactive effects from previous and/or subsequent irrigation, and the effect, timing...

Estimation of Actual Evapotranspiration, Water productivity, and Irrigation Efficiency of Wheat Fields in Surface and Sprinkler Irrigation Systems Using Remote Sensing

In arid and semi-arid regions, water resource management and optimization of applying irrigation water are particularly important. For optimization of applying irrigation water, the estimated values of actual evapotranspiration are necessary for avoiding excessive or inadequate applying water. The estimation of actual crop evapotranspiration is not possible in large areas using the traditional ...

Soil Phosphorus Dynamics under Sprinkler and Furrow Irrigation

Furrow irrigation detaches and transports soil particles and subsequently nutrients such as phosphorus (P). To reduce the risk of erosion and offsite P movement, producers can convert from furrow to sprinkler irrigation. We completed research on soil P dynamics in furrow versus sprinkler irrigated soils from four paired fields in south central Idaho. Surface soils (0-2.5 inches) were obtained f...
